Half Marathon

At some point during this summer, I got it into my head that I could/want to run a half marathon. So I started training and little by little I could run further and further. I finally did it and signed up for a race. The day before the race I had to go down and pick up my race packet. Here is Brayden and me outside the race expo.

There were some big starts at the expo. Sponge Bob made Brayden's day!
The big race was on Sunday at 7:00am. The map of the course is below. We started at Mandalay Bay and ran down and around Fremont Street then back. 13.1 miles is a lot further than it looks on this little map!Nick and Brayden came at the end of the race so they could be there when I finished. Nick took this picture down by the finish line. There were so many people, it was unbelievable. There were about 25,00 that ran either the half marathon or the full one that morning. It was incredible to see all of those people running.

There were even celebrities running. Well at least celebrity look at likes...
This is me (in the aqua shirt) coming up on the finish line. The couple in front of me (man with the top hat and girl with the white dress) got married along the race course. The had a run through wedding chapel set up at the Venetian. It was kinda of cool to see couple running in wedding gear and I even ran past an entire bridal party at one point.
I made it. I completed the race in 2:22:12. My stats were as follows: Overall: 9357 out of 19217 · Division: 786 out of 1785 · Gender:4769 out of 11942
I am so glad that I actually followed through with my intention to do this. I am also glad that Nick put up with me while I trained, whined and went for early morning runs. So glad he loves me!
