San Diego

This weekend we decided to pack up and head out. Nick had Friday off from work and I got talked into taking the day off as well so we could go to San Diego. We left Thursday night and got in late, so we didn't do anything that night, but Friday and Saturday were full of fun! On Friday we went to the San Diego Zoo. We had so much fun! Brayden loved being able to run free and look at all the animals. He was however afraid of the turtles.. He clung to Nick like his little life depended on it! Maybe he had bad memories of Halloween's past? Here are some of our pictures from the zoo. I will spare you all of the animal pictures. I am going to make a book for Brayden to help him learn his animals.

Looking at the monkey

There was a huge wall covered in paintings of panda bears and Brayden turned around and said "cheese" all by himself

We sized ourselves up to a polar bear

And looked at baby ducks

and elephants

After the zoo, we headed up to Point Loma to take in some more sights. It was a huge cliff that we were able to walk down and get by the ocean. It was absolutely beautiful! Brayden had a blast throwing rocks into the water

On Friday night we went down to the beach to catch the sunset, but it was too cloudy. We instead hung out and listened to a band before going back to our hotel to get Brayden down. On Saturday morning, we went back to the beach and rented bicycles and a trailer for Brayden. We rode our bikes up the boardwalk along the beach. When we got to the end, we went down to the beach. Brayden was very unsure at first. Nick would take him in the water and he would hold up his feet. I think the water was too cold for him.

Eventually he got used to the water. We had not brought his swimsuit on the bikes with us which is why he is in a T- shirt and diaper.

He would run into the water as it was coming in and once he got in too deep, he would run back to shore

He really loved being in the water. We had a fun vacation and since it isn't too far away, we are going to try and go a few times this summer.
